Stephen Graham

–

Denver, Colorado

It is with a smile on our faces and a twinkle in our eyes that we remember Stephen Graham, born on the 29th of December, 1948, in Sunnyside, Washington. Stephen was a man of many talents and an even greater number of hobbies. From his early days as a mechanic with a passion for art and cars, he had a knack for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, a trait that was both creative and resourceful. He was a man who lived his life with a generous spirit, a compassionate heart, and an infectious sense of humor that could light up even the darkest of rooms. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." And Stephen, with his memorable smile and sparkling blue eyes, was always ready to get started on his next adventure, be it a game of chess, a round of barboo, or a new painting.

Stephen, who had made Denver, Colorado his home for the past year, was a man of many previous residences, one of which was the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington. But no matter where he lived, what mattered most to him were his kids. He cherished them deeply and took immense pride in their accomplishments. His love for his country was equally profound, a patriotism that was as deep as his love for dominos, hearts, and spades. "Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be," Grandma Moses once said. Stephen lived by this motto, always making the most of his life and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Stephen leaves behind a rich legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his granddaughter Erika Reed, his daughter Barbarella Hutto and son-in-law David Hutto, grandson Ryan Graham, ex-wife Anita Lumberry, sister-in-law Rose Lunberry, and great-grandson Ethan Czaja. He is preceded in death by his father Eugene Graham and mother Mary Harris.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, September 03, 2026 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 11:30AM. Directions to Stephen's service can be obtained by clicking the "Events" tab above.
