Ronald Smith

–

Aurora, Colorado

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Ronald Edward Smith, affectionately known as Ronnie, on September 19, 2026. Born on November 21, 1949, in Omaha, NE, Ronald was a spirited, funny, loyal, and talented man who brought a sense of loyalty to everyone he encountered. As a Christian, he lived by the principles of his faith, believing in God. In the words of Scripture, he "fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7).

Ronald, a proud resident of Aurora, Colorado, was a man of many talents and interests. In his early years he joined the Army and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska before meeting his wife, Terrie Preston. As his careers developed, he also worked for a marble company, Scott Systems, Steamboat Rentals, and eventually owned and operated a successful concrete business. He had a natural ability to connect with people, which served him well in his line of work. Besides his professional achievements, Ronald was passionate about camping, fishing, woodworking, racquetball and riding motorcycles. His funny and spirited nature was infectious, making him a favorite among his friends and group activities. As a youth, Ronald was part of 4-H, where he received multiple ribbons for dog training.

Family was the cornerstone of Ronald's life. He was a fiercely loyal husband, father, and grandfather who believed in the power of love, unity, and integrity. His family and friends will always remember him as a pillar of strength, with a strong sense of love. Ronald is survived by his son Ryan Smith, his daughter Kelly Eckerdt, and his sister Michelle Plumb. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Leone Smith, and his brothers, Rodney and Gregory Smith along with his beloved wife, Terrie Smith.

As we mourn the loss of Ronald, we invite you to share your memories of him on his memorial page. Let us remember Ronald for who he was - a man of integrity, a hard worker, a loving family man, and a true friend. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
